GSA Advantage!: the federal marketplace

Think of it as the government's online store, open only to schedule holders. Here is how buyers use it and how to show up when they search.

What GSA Advantage! is

GSA Advantage! is the online shopping and ordering system for federal buyers. It exists to lower the cost, time, and paperwork of buying, to secure fair prices, and to confirm that each seller is authorized to sell to the government. Only MAS contract holders can list products and services there, which is a large part of the schedule's value. Anyone can browse it, but the listings are yours alone.

How buyers shop

A buyer can search by product or service, by description, by category, or by the seller's name, and can browse without logging in. Each listing shows your photos, description, price, and volume discounts. When the buyer is ready to purchase, they log in and check out. Contracting officers also use it for quick market research and price comparison, so your listing is doing sales work even when nobody orders.

How an order reaches you

  1. Order placed

The system emails you the order and prompts you to log in.

  2. Accept or reject

You review the order details in the portal.

  3. Ship and confirm

After shipping, you confirm and enter the tracking number. That completes the transaction without any back-and-forth with the buyer.

How you get paid

Most orders are paid with the GSA SmartPay government purchase card. Others may reference an agency Activity Address Code or a Department of Defense Activity Address Code. State and local buyers who are eligible to use GSA contracts pay with cards issued by their own governments.

Ranking well

Listings that show up first win more orders. Titles, descriptions, and product data all influence where your item lands for a given search, and small edits can make a big difference. Good photos and detailed specs matter as much as in any online store. We offer listing optimization and re-check your visibility with test searches.

Keeping your catalog compliant

Every modification that GSA accepts must be reflected in your catalog: new items, price reductions, and deletions. Files with non-compliant codes get rejected, and each rejection needs a corrected re-upload. Our team handles that as part of our modification service.
